Santa Cruz County Pet-friendly Promotion
In fall 2015, the Santa Cruz County CVC (now Visit Santa Cruz County) launched its first pet-friendly promotion with Dogtrekker, a website and e-newsletter chock-full of pet-friendly adventure ideas from throughout the state of California. Featuring destination information, lodging listings, road trip ideas, dog rescue and adoption sources, and other resources, Santa Cruz County is featured in the Central Coast section of Dogtrekker and is complete with editorial and photos to illustrate how your pooch can vacation in the county. Part of the year-long marketing promotional opportunity with the Dogtrekker website includes a Santa Cruz-specific e-newsletter, distributed to approximately 15,000 subscribers with links to both the Visit Santa Cruz County website, and Dogtrekker, which hosts a half million user-sessions annually. Additionally, 2015 Official Santa Cruz County Traveler’s Guides as well as pet-friendly visitor information were distributed at the canine-friendly Bark in the Park event in September 2015, which hosts 15,000 people and 3,900 dogs – and at the Marin Pet Fair in October 2015, with 17,000 two-legged attendees and 6,000 four-legged attendees during the two-day event.
