After an extensive audit of its brand and marketing strategies, the Washington County Convention & Tourism Office/Visit St. George, launched a rebrand in late May as the Greater Zion Convention & Tourism Office. As the communities and tourism product have grown throughout the county, the DMO staff believed it was time to develop a brand that would unify the diverse offerings, celebrate all that the destination stands for, and resonate deeply with visitors. Research suggested that the DMO find a way to benefit from its most recognizable asset, without making the destination’s value dependent on it. Greater Zion delivers against all of the outlined criteria and capitalizes on the various meanings of the word ‘greater.’ More than 150 key stakeholders came to the DMO’s launch event and the response to the new brand was extremely positive.
