Washington County Visitors Association Issues Sustainability Grants to Community Hotels

In March the Washington County Visitors Association (WCVA) committed $560,000 to be dispersed to 56 community hotels in the Tualatin Valley. The organization provided $10,000 to each hotel, which is the equivalent of 445 room rentals per night (countywide) for 14 nights at an average rate of almost $90 per room. “This grant program serves as our investment in the future of the Tualatin Valley and its citizens. For decades, the local lodging business community has been a true partner in our efforts and it is our turn to support them,” said Carolyn McCormick, president & CEO of WCVA. The sustainability grant program was designed to help lodging establishments while they awaited State and Federal assistance for small businesses.
