Foundation Trustee Appointment
Joel Racker, CDME, president & CEO at Explore Utah Valley, was recently appointed as a Trustee-at-Large on the DMA West Education & Research Foundation Board of Trustees. Racker will complete an unexpired term through September 2020.
Foundation Scholarships Available – Save $$$ for Industry Education
The DMA West Education and Research Foundation administers several scholarship programs to fund educational opportunities for DMO CEOs and staff. Scholarship applications are available at www.dmawest.org – click on the Foundation/Scholarships link on the home page.
2020 Tech Summit Scholarships
Plan to be in Tucson for the 2020 Tech Summit & Vendor Showcase, March 25-27. Scholarship criteria and an application are available online. Each scholarship includes conference registration and lodging. Application deadline: February 3, 2020.
2019 Education Summit Scholarships Awarded
The DMA West Education & Research Foundation awarded scholarships to two destination marketers to attend the 2019 DMA West Education Summit in Sacramento. Each scholarship included conference registration and lodging. Congratulations to the scholarship recipients.

Winning Ticket for the Western Road Trip Raffle
Western Colorado Historic Hot Springs Loop
Julie Saupe, president & CEO at Visit Anchorage, bought the winning ticket for the 2019 Western Road Trip Raffle. Saupe, and a guest, will travel to five premier hot springs destinations in western Colorado, which have formed the 720-mile Colorado Historic Hot Springs Loop to showcase some of the most popular hot springs attractions in the country. There is so much variety: from intimate private baths to the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool. The prize package includes seven nights lodging on the Hot Springs Loop, admittance to the hot springs/pools and $500 spending money. The DMA West Foundation sponsors roundtrip airfare for two and a car rental stipend as part of the prize package. Special thanks to our participating Colorado DMOs and thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets throughout 2019; the proceeds underwrite DMA West Foundation research projects and scholarships.
