Rising Trends in the Digital Marketing Industry Explored at Tech Summit

In an article in the Visit Santa Cruz County publication, it was noted that the DMA West Tech Summit “ended with a strong message for destinations to continue exploring digital media efforts and to embrace the winds of change in the ever-growing age of social media expansion. VSCC staff returned with valuable tools to use toward frequently used platforms as well as ways to assist partners in growing their own online presence.” Thanks to Visit Santa Cruz County for sending three representatives to the Tech Summit.

A collection of labs, educational sessions and exhibits comprised the 14th annual Tech Summit & Vendor Showcase, March 20-22, in Albuquerque. Representatives from western DMOs joined leading experts to talk about what’s new in all things digital marketing, social media, video, audio, AI and more. Many of the speaker presentations from the Tech Summit have been loaded to the DMA West Resource Library. The executive summary from the study—Measuring Visitor Conversion from DMO Social Media Investment + Traveler Profiles of DMO Social Media Audiences—will be available in late April on the home page and in the Foundation section of www.dmawest.org.

Special thanks to our presenters, vendors and sponsors for their participation and support. When seeking vendor company information, see this preferred list at: https://www.dmawest.org/education/vendors-and-sponsors.

Kudos to the Visit Albuquerque staff for their warm hospitality. If you were at the Tech Summit, you know there were hot air balloon rides, museum tours, and fun receptions at the Hyatt Regency and the ABQ BioPark Aquarium. Yes, there is an aquarium in Albuquerque—and it was fabulous.

Watch for date and location information for the 2020 Tech Summit & Vendor Showcase.
